Tomás Lozano, recently participated in the free leadership course “De Mentes Camp 2023” at CESA in Bogotá, where he presented a proposal on the wellbeing of students facing a tough academic load. His initiative led him to be the only student from another city, among 50 competitors, to win a scholarship that gives him a 30% discount for his entire university career.
“It was a very interesting opportunity that the school provided me with and I decided to go to this university because I was very interested in it. I travelled to Bogotá and I had a lot of mixed feelings. The university has always attracted my attention and I am grateful for the opportunity that Miriam Polo de Molina gave me,” said Tomás.
“I believe that the skills I have learned at CCB have helped me a lot to thrive in this kind of external environment. The competition was very tough, I didn’t think I was going to win, but I am very happy with the result and all the work I have done with the school and the university,” added Tomás.
Tomás is interested in studying business administration and has demonstrated his commitment by taking advantage of all the resources and opportunities that CCB Counselling has offered him. Previously, he was part of a team that presented an entrepreneurship proposal in a competition launched by the Universidad Externado de Colombia, winning a free diploma course on entrepreneurship.
This has allowed him to stand out and be selected for an interview with CESA University, where he managed to be accepted without paying the admission fee.
“My advice to the whole CCB community is to take advantage of these opportunities that the school is giving us, which are really valuable, and finally to keep in mind that it is not just about doing well at school and doing our duty, but about always going further and looking for more opportunities elsewhere,” he concluded.
As an educational community we are proud of Tomás’ achievement. He is an example that our students here achieve beyond expectations.

Tomás Lozano, estudiante de 12c, participó recientemente en el curso libre de liderazgo “De Mentes Camp 2023” de la Universidad CESA en Bogotá, donde presentó una propuesta sobre el bienestar de los estudiantes que enfrentan una dura carga académica. Su iniciativa lo llevó a ser el único estudiante de otra ciudad, entre 50 competidores, en ganar una beca que le otorga un 30% de descuento, durante toda su carrera universitaria.
“Fue una oportunidad muy interesante que el Colegio me brindó y pues yo decidí esta institución porque me interesaba mucho. Viajé a Bogotá y tenía muchas sensaciones encontradas. La universidad desde siempre me había llamado mucho la atención y doy gracias a la oportunidad que me brindó Miriam Polo de Molina”, comentó Tomás.
“Considero que las habilidades que he aprendido en el Colegio me han ayudado mucho para desarrollarme en este tipo de entornos externos. La competencia fue muy difícil, no pensé que fuera a ganar, pero estoy muy contento por el resultado y por todo el trabajo que he hecho con el colegio y con la universidad”, añadió el estudiante.
Tomás está interesado en estudiar administración de empresas y ha demostrado su compromiso al aprovechar todos los recursos y oportunidades que la Consejería del CCB le ha ofrecido. Anteriormente, formó parte de un equipo que presentó una propuesta de emprendimiento en un concurso lanzado por la Universidad Externado de Colombia, logrando salir victorioso y obteniendo un diplomado gratuito sobre emprendimiento.
Esto le ha permitido destacarse y ser seleccionado para una entrevista con la Universidad CESA, donde logró ser aceptado sin pagar la cuota de admisión.
“Mi consejo para toda la comunidad CCB, es que aprovechen esas oportunidades que nos está brindando el Colegio, que realmente son muy valiosas y por último tener en cuenta que, no es simplemente cumplir con que nos vaya bien en el colegio y con nuestro deber, sino también siempre ir más allá y buscar más oportunidades en lo externo”, concluyó.
Como comunidad educativa nos enorgullece el logro de Tomás. Es un ejemplo de que aquí nuestros estudiantes alcanzan logros que superan sus expectativas.
