Our student, Daniela Estrada Lasso, together with her Club Ciudad de Cali, won the title of Pan American Artistic Swimming Champions, in the ‘PanAm Aquatics’ competition that took place in Lima, Peru, from the 18th to the 23rd of August.

Daniela won the gold medal in the Youth Free Combination category, ahead of two great powerhouses such as the United States and Mexico in second and third place.

‘It was very exciting because we were going for the bronze medal, because the United States and Mexico were there and they are very good… and a little bit unreachable. We never imagined that it could be a gold,’ said Daniela.

For Daniela, this triumph leaves her with a great lesson: ‘you always have to train for a goal, but never stop dreaming, never limit yourself’, as her team, which was looking for bronze, finally managed to take first place.

It is worth mentioning that it has been a very triumphant summer for Daniela who in June won 2 gold medals with the Valle National Team, in the National Interleague Artistic Swimming Championship that took place in Cali.

Congratulations Daniela for this golden triumph! At CCB we are very proud of you!
