Daniela Estrada Lasso won silver medals in the Team Free and Mixed Duet routines representing the Colombian Youth Artistic Swimming Team at the XXX Youth South American Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina, held from September 6 to 14.
“This was very exciting because it was my first time representing Colombia. I had to learn to live for two weeks with people from two different cities and new coaches. I learned a lot in this process as a person,” said Daniela.
She told us that this experience has been very meaningful in her sports career, not only because she has visited different countries but also because of the weighty responsibility of representing Colombia in the best possible way.
“Facing two international competitions in such a short time has been challenging due to all the effort, concentration, and double daily training sessions so that I can do a very good job, as well as catching up with all the tasks and responsibilities I have in school. Now, what’s coming up ahead for the rest of the year is preparation for the National Interclub Championships.”
Daniela has had a fantastic run so far. Let’s remember that Daniela previously participated in the Panam Artistic Swimming Championships 2023 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, achieving the 6th position in the Free Duet category and a bronze medal in the Team Free category.

Daniela Estrada Lasso ganó medallas de plata en rutinas de Equipo Libre y Dueto Mixto. Junto a su equipo logran posicionar a Colombia como subcampeón sudamericano en dichas categorías, como representantes de la Selección Colombia Juvenil de Natación Artística en el XXX Campeonato Sudamericano Juvenil en Buenos Aires (Argentina), llevado a cabo del 6 al 14 de Septiembre de 2023.
“Este proceso fue muy emocionante ya que fue mi primera Selección Colombia, tuve que aprender a convivir dos semanas con personas de dos ciudades diferentes y nuevas entrenadoras. Aprendí muchas cosas en este proceso como persona”, relató la estudiante.
Daniela nos cuenta que esta experiencia ha sido muy significativa en su carrera deportiva, no solo porque ha conocido diferentes países, sino también por la labor de representar a Colombia de la mejor manera.
“Enfrentar dos competencias internacionales en tan poco tiempo ha sido difícil por todo el esfuerzo, la concentración y la doble jornada de entreno diario para hacer un muy buen trabajo; como también llegar a ponerme al día con todas las tareas y las responsabilidades que tengo en el colegio. Ahora lo que viene para terminar el año es prepararse para el Nacional Interclubes”.
Recordemos que, Daniela anteriormente participó en el Panam Artistic Swimming Championships 2023 en la ciudad de Fort Lauderdale, Florida, obteniendo el 6 puesto en la modalidad de Dueto Libre y medalla de bronce en la modalidad de Equipo Libre.
