Our environmental programme, “Corazón Verde”, has been shortlisted as one of the top 10 finalists in the ‘VIII International Education Congress’ held at the Universidad de la Sabana in Bogotá on the 5th and 6th of September. This achievement will allow our students to present their environmental projects in the auditorium of Expo Educación in Madrid, Spain, in September 2025.

The judges commended our programme as an experimental and innovative project that brings joy to students and benefits communities beyond CCB. This congress brought together around 50 schools from across the country, with the aim of showcasing their innovative educational projects.

This is an incredible opportunity for our environmental initiative to gain international recognition, as well as allowing us to exchange ideas and expand our network.

What is Corazón Verde?

Our ‘Corazón Verde’ programme is a student-led environmental project aimed at raising environmental awareness through various campaigns focused on caring for, preserving, and promoting the sustainable development of our environment.

‘Corazón Verde’ is made up of Karen Burbano, our environmental coordinator, and 100 students from both secondary and primary sections. Our students, as members of this programme, learn to be committed leaders dedicated to preserving and protecting the environment for future generations, and develop their creativity by designing campaigns that involve the entire school community.

“Through hands-on environmental education, we manage to inspire dozens of students to contribute from their areas of interest to a more sustainable future,” says Karen Burbano, environmental coordinator.

Surely, this programme will capture the attention of the international crowd in Madrid as well as in the upcoming COP 16 event held in Cali where our students will have a stand to present our school’s sustainability projects.
