The 3º student Jacobo Gutiérrez Nesta was silver champion in América’s Cup OTI in the Pony 2014 Category, the tournament took place during the first half of 2022 and ended on June 4th, 2022. Jacobo started playing in the position of Goalkeeper, where he put in an outstanding performance throughout the tournament.
He started playing at 4 and is now a goalkeeper in the U8 category in the America de Cali team. His parents are always supporting him at every match and they are always cheering him on “Before every game, we encourage him by praying mainly and asking God to guide him, as well as telling him many positive things about himself and that he should give his all on the pitch.” Diana Ximena Nates Mosquera, Jacobo’s mother, said.
On the other hand, Jacobo revealed that he wants to keep playing football all of his life. His favourite soccer player is Lionel Messi “ He knows how to play with the ball, he scores a lot and he’s the best soccer player” Jacobo mentioned. His mom, Diana feels a lot of joy every time he’s playing on the field “When we see Jacobo playing we feel a great emotion, we feel very proud because of all the passion he puts into what he does and the love he has for football,” Diana said.

El estudiante Jacobo Gutiérrez Nesta de 3º quedo campeón silver en la Copa América OTI en la categoría Pony 2014, el torneo se dio durante el primer semestre del 2022 y termino el 4 de Junio. Jacobo jugó en la posición de Arquero, en donde hizo una maravilosa presentación durante todo el torneo.
Jacobo empezó jugando a la edad de 4 años y ahora es arquero titular de la categoría Sub 8 en el equipo America de Cali. Sus padres siempre lo estan viendo ante cada juego y siempre le estan dando ánimo “Ante cada partido lo alentamos orando principalmente y pidiéndole a Dios que lo guié, además de diciéndole muchas cosas positivas qué hay en el y que de todo su esfuerzo en la cancha.” Dijo Diana Ximena Nates Mosquera, mamá de Jacobo.
Por otro lado, Jacobo reveló que quiere seguir jugando fútbol toda su vida. Lionel Messi es su jugador favorito “Juega muy bien con el balón, hace muchos goles y es el mejor” mencionó Jacobo. Su mamá, Diana siente una gran felicidad cada vez que lo ve en la cancha de fútbol “Cuando vemos a Jacobo jugar sentimos una gran emoción, gran orgullo por toda la pasión que le pone a lo que hace y al amor que le tiene al fútbol” dijo Diana.
