We are thrilled to announce that eight of our seventh and eighth-grade students travelled to Bangkok, Thailand on February 13th to attend and represent us as the only school in Latin America at the Round Square International Conference. This year’s conference theme was “Embracing Change: Shaping the Future” and is organised by Regents International School. Nineteen schools participated, coming from Australia, Bangladesh, China, the United States, India, Kenya, Pakistan, Thailand, and Tanzania.
The aim of the conferences is to foster discussion on how small actions can lead to significant changes in the world around us.
“I had fun and learned about Thai culture. Also, how we are negatively impacting the world and how some people are trying to change this. Each of us can start by doing small things,” said Sofia Fonseca (8th grade).
Our students had the opportunity to participate in debates on global issues, collaborative activities and cultural exchanges, as well as learn about the culture and some emblematic places like Ko Kret, which allowed them to immerse themselves in the country’s history and tradition.
“This trip was an intercultural experience for me because I met people from many countries. I was with them for five days, slept near them, had breakfast with them, had lunch, ate and spent all day with them, so it was a very intercultural and cool experience,” commented Daniel Tijero (8th grade).
Each encounter with people from different cultures enriches knowledge and broadens understanding of the world.
The main challenge was the long journey, for Julieta Cura (7th O): “It was an unforgettable experience, without a doubt the best of my entire life. The trip was very long, approximately 27 hours. It was a very tough trip, but the truth is that with the help of my classmates and teacher we made it,”.
Undoubtedly, this opportunity allowed them to learn about new cultures, meet new friends and, above all, reflect on their role in creating positive change in the world with small actions. This is the sort of experience we can always expect from our Experiential Education Programme, “GoBeyond – Step Into the Unknown”!

Estamos muy emocionados de contarles que, ocho de nuestros estudiantes de séptimo y octavo grado, viajaron este 13 de febrero hacia Bangkok, Tailandia, para asistir y representarnos como el único colegio de Latinoamérica en la Conferencia Internacional de Round Square, que este año tiene el lema de “Abrazar el cambio: dar forma al futuro” y esta organizada por Regents International School. Participaron 19 colegios provenientes de Australia, Bangladesh, China, Estados Unidos, India, Kenia, Pakistán, Tailandia y Tanzania.
El objetivo de las conferencias es fomentar un debate sobre cómo las pequeñas acciones pueden generar grandes cambios en el mundo que nos rodea.
“Me divertí al igual que aprendí sobre la cultura de Tailandia . También cómo nosotros estamos impactando negativamente al mundo y algunas personas están intentando cambiar esto. Cada uno de nosotros puede comenzar haciendo cosas pequeñas”, Sofía Fonseca (8º).
Nuestros estudiantes tuvieron la oportunidad de participar en debates sobre temas globales, actividades de colaboración e intercambios culturales, además de poder conocer un poco sobre la cultura y algunos lugares emblemáticos como, Ko Kret, lo que les permitió sumergirse en la historia y tradición del país.
“Este viaje para mi fue una experiencia intercultural, porque conocí gente de bastantes países. Estuve con ellos durante cinco días, dormí cerca de ellos , desayune con ellos, almorzaba, comía y pasaba todo el día con ellos, entonces pues fue una experiencia bastante intercultural y chévere”, comentó Daniel Tijero (8º).
Cada encuentro con personas de diferentes culturas enriquece el conocimiento y amplía la comprensión del mundo.
El principal desafío fue el viaje tan extenso, para Julieta Cura (7º) “Fue una experiencia inolvidable, sin duda la mejor de toda mi vida. El viaje estuvo muy largo, aproximadamente 27 horas. Fue un viaje muy fuerte, pero la verdad es que con la ayuda de mis compañeros y profesora lo logramos”.
Indudablemente, esta oportunidad les permitió aprender sobre nuevas culturas, conocer nuevos amigos y sobre todo reflexionar sobre su papel en la creación de un cambio positivo en el mundo con pequeñas acciones. Este es el tipo de experiencia que siempre podemos esperar de nuestro programa de Educación Experiencial “GoBeyond – Step Into the Unknown”.
