Surely, you have heard about the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It is the largest international organization dedicated to fulfilling wishes for children and teenagers diagnosed with critical illnesses, with the sole purpose of enriching their human experience with hope, strength, and joy.
On average, they fulfill a wish every 16 minutes somewhere in the world thanks to their network of volunteers, corporations, missionaries, universities, and schools. MAW operates in more than 50 countries through 40 offices on 6 continents. Currently, it is in 9 cities in Colombia, and we can proudly say that Cali is one of them.
Even more importantly, several of our students from the IB’s CAS program (Creativity, Activity, and Service) are working with Make-A-Wish. On August 17, 2023, there was a first meeting with Juana Rojas, who is the Volunteer Coordinator for the program at the national and regional levels. A space was coordinated with them, and in September, we invited 30 CCB students from grades 11 and 12 to share the information.
On that same day, 28 of them accepted the challenge and became part of an international NGO that provides the opportunity to carry out and strengthen teamwork, creativity, and empathy.
Preparing minds and hearts to face the challenges of the future is not only our mission, but it is the compass that guides each of the experiences and projects of CCB’s CAS program.
Today, we are part of an international NGO that allows us to fulfill the vision that our school has of transforming and positively impacting our environments. It opens the possibility to do the same anywhere in the world wherever we go. We are committed to building and accompanying individuals willing to serve, be agents of change, and build bridges that unite us as humans.
Soon, we will be sharing with the community the experiences of our students in their task of fulfilling dreams. Because at CCB, We Have a Voice for Solidarity.

Seguro han escuchado hablar de la Make-A-Wish Foundation. Es la organización más grande a nivel internacional dedicada a cumplir los deseos a niños, niñas y adolescentes que han sido diagnosticados con enfermedades críticas, con el único objetivo de enriquecer su experiencia humana con esperanza, fortaleza y alegría.
En promedio, cumplen un deseo cada 16 minutos en algún lugar del mundo gracias a voluntarios, corporativos, misionales, universidades y colegios. MAW opera en más de 50 países a través de 40 oficinas en 6 continentes. Actualmente está en 9 ciudades de Colombia y con orgullo podemos decir que Cali es una de ellas.
Y más importante aún, varios de nuestros estudiantes del programa CAS (Creatividad, Actividad y Servicio) están trabajando con Make-A-Wish. Es por eso que el 17 de agosto del 2023 se tuvo un primer encuentro con Juana Rojas, quien es la Coordinadora de Voluntarios del programa a nivel nacional y regional. Se coordinó un espacio con ellos y en septiembre invitamos a 30 estudiantes CCB de grado 11 y 12 para compartir la información.
Ese mismo día, 28 de ellos aceptaron el desafío y lograron ser parte de una ONG internacional que brinda la oportunidad de realizar y fortalecer el trabajo en equipo, la creatividad y la empatía.
Preparar mentes y corazones para enfrentar los retos del futuro no sólo es nuestra misión, es la brújula que orienta cada una de las experiencias y proyectos del programa de CAS del CCB.
Hoy somos parte de una ONG internacional que nos permite cumplir la visión que como colegio tenemos de transformar e impactar positivamente los entornos y nos abre la posibilidad de hacer lo mismo en cualquier lugar del mundo donde quiera que vayamos. Estamos comprometidos en formar y acompañar seres humanos dispuestos a servir, ser agentes de cambio y construir puentes que nos unan como humanidad.
Proximamente, estaremos compartiendo con la comunidad las experiencias de nuestros estudiantes en su tarea de cumplir sueños. Porque en el CCB, Tenemos una voz para la Solidaridad.
